Adapted devices
The entire tour is accessible to people with reduced mobility and those using a walker (level paths, elevators, adapted restrooms), and wheelchairs are available at the reception desk upon request (ID required as a deposit).
Staff in contact with the public are trained in welcoming people with disabilities (hearing, cognitive, mental).
The exploration tour can be visited at your own pace: the visit time is flexible, with the possibility of taking regular breaks thanks to the availability of seating and rest areas (download the map here).
In order to promote equal access to culture, Planet Ocean Montpellier offers special prices for people with disabilities and their caregivers.
Presence of specific devices
Sensory bags: to assist visitors with sensory impairments, the Planet Ocean Montpellier team provides adult and child bags free of charge (while stocks last). They contain various fidgets, noise-canceling headphones, and an explanatory diagram of how Planet Ocean Montpellier works.
A magnetic induction loop is available at the reception desk and under the Planetary Dome for visitors with hearing aids.
The Emeraude Café menus are available in a visually accessible version (click here to download them).
Certain cultural mediation tools are also available in an adapted version (click here to browse them).
Visitor advice
The quietest times are outside of school holidays, ideally during sunny weather. The least busy times are between noon and 2:00 p.m.
Special Days are offered to people with disabilities in partnership with L’Invisible Visible. These allow visitors to explore the site with additional directional signage, reduced volume for certain music and ambient sounds, and dimmed or even switched-off lighting. A special welcome is also provided. All other facilities are also accessible on these days.
⚠️ You do not need to be a member of the “L’Invisible Visible” association to participate: these mornings are open to everyone. However, a special online ticket office allows members of the association to book at the PRM rate.
Group advice
Groups receive special treatment and preferential rates. For more information, please visit the following page.
Our partner: The Invisible Visible
The Invisible Visible is an association that promotes awareness and inclusive adaptation. It works with Planet Ocean Montpellier to implement various measures for people with visible or invisible disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or sensory impairments.
Its founder, Cathy Cassisa, has trained the Planet Ocean Montpellier team to be aware of how to welcome people with invisible disabilities.
